21th January 2014, Committee of the Regions (Van Maerlant) Rue Van Maerlant 2, Brussels
As an important stakeholder, gate keeper or policy maker in the prevention of suicide, you are invited to join us in the process of reviewing the preliminary results of the Euregenas project.
Euregenas (European Regions Enforcing Actions Against Suicide) is a three years project, which has received funding from the European Union under the Public Health Programme 2008-2013. The overall objective of the EUREGENAS project is to contribute to the prevention of suicidality in Europe through the development and implementation of strategies for suicide prevention at regional level that can be of use to the European Community as examples of good practice.
The project is now approaching a stage where most of its preliminary results are ready to be reviewied. For this purpose, at the conference, a stakeholder consultation will be formally launched. After the welcome and introductions by the European Commission and by the Euregenas project lead, the participants will be split into workshops.
The terms of reference of the e-conceptual model in suicide prevention, the General Guidelines and the prevention packages will be discussed in one group, while the Training Protocols for GPs and the mapping of support groups for survivors will then be discussed in the other one.
The conference will end with a panel debate in plenum with representatives from the European Institutions and the Scientific Board of Euregenas followed by conclusions by the moderator and formal launch of the stakeholder consultation.
