Conference on mental health and domestic violence: Brussels, 23 November 2012

On 23 November, Mental Health Europe will organise the conference ‘Hitting the spot – safeguarding the mental health of victims of domestic violence’ to present the outcomes of the ‘Mental Health Europe Daphne project’. Mental Health Europe and its partners trained enforcement agents on the mental health aspects associated with this type of violence, as the agents are the first points of contact for women reporting their aggressors. The specific objectives of the project were to provide cross-cultural and gender-sensitive information on the mental health aspects of violence towards women and to promote both an adequate response and attitude from police officers when dealing with victims of violence.
